Postal 2 DLC Details Revealed

By -
Running With Scissors has revealed some but not all of the details of what will come with the Postal 2 (Steam, Desura) DLC!

New video options
-Added V-Sync option
-Added Widescreen Stretch toggle Option
-Added FOV option
-Fixed widescreen stretching issues regarding various things such as the map screen, hud and police wanted bar.

The game will also have Steam achievements which will also work outside out Steam via an option system in-game as well, so non-Steam users can still enjoy them if they wish.

They will be merging the addon "Apocalypses weekend" into the game itself, it will give you the option to pick either at the start or a new mode of them both together in a full option called "A week in Paradise".
This will bring with it 3 weapons from Apocalypses weekend and dismemberment into the whole game, nice.

New weapons from the Eternal Damnation mod
-Chainsaw
-Flamethrower
-Baseball bat
-Knuckle Dusters
-Possibly more!

Whats a knuckle duster? Brass knuckles?

I like this game and have owned it since it came out but i didnt notice until recently that there was actually stuff to do lol. I knew I was supposed to get milk but I always ended up running around and causing mayhem. Never made it to the game studio part until recently lol. Cant say Im very far in the game at all but its still really fun.

The "A week in Paradise" MOD has been available for some time: http://www.moddb.com/mods/awp-a-week-in-paradise
Not sure if it's the same as the new option, but the features are quite similar. Though the MOD has more features than the revealed, including people wearing hats and a nuclear bazooka.

I played the version available in the fudge pack and it was very unstable, with frequent crashes.

Indeed the DLC is a combination of lots of mods and other little features.

RWS keeps on staying awesome. ^_^

Although they are not the only ones to do this - I believe Trine 2 allows for something similar.

@Edgar what we are doing will take things way beyond what AWP was, I'm just choosing to only announce updates we have verified to be working by our QA testers.  We are not just dumping the old mod in and releasing it, we are just basing it off the same idea.

Good to see you check into these here parts Toploader. ;)

You're the one to thank for that, I followed a link from Desura.

Something which was discussed on the RWS forums: the DLC will include some new recordings from Rick Hunter, mostly unused files that were originally going to be included with Postal III. As to why Rick Hunter was previously unavailable and Corey Cruise was cast in PIII, Toploader has explained that "Rick went AWOL over the time we needed him and was impossible to get hold of. He's around again now but this being a free patch we'll work with the assets we already have rather than paying for more, but yeah should be able to add a bit more variety anyhow."
