The developers emailed this in one to let us know about Alone, a very interesting looking horror game for the Oculus Rift which supports Linux of course.

QuoteAlone is a brand new type of horror experience. It requires the use of the Oculus Rift headset, headphones, and a PC enabled controller. Once you put on your VR headset, you will find yourself sitting on a couch in a virtual living room. Looking around the room you'll find the comforts of any home, and windows looking out to a dark and windy night. In front of you is a Television where you will be playing an FPS horror title called The Witching Hour. Using only your controller, Start the game.

This just sounds fantastic, I can easily see the horror genre really kicking off with the Rift. They are asking for $25K and currently are sitting on $4K with 22 days to go so they can easily reach that goal.

The only problem I see with projects like this is that unless you own a Rift you probably won't be backing it, so is it a little early or do we need projects that use the Rift to keep coming out to push demand? Sounds like I am going to need to invest in one sooner or later!

What do you think to this one guys? Love it!

I saw Markiplier playing this game some weeks ago.... it is very short, but the experience of playing it with the Oculus without knowing what is gonna happen (not my case anymore) must be completely AWESOME!

Hey everyone! I'm Bryan Cohen one of the co-creators of Alone!

Reaching backers that don't currently possess the Rift has been a challenge of ours and to that we ask simply this:

You are not only pledging your support of the game being developed (which would reserve you a copy whenever you decide to purchase a Rift), but you are also supporting both the VR community and VR developers by helping us bring a quality VR experience to everyone to enjoy. We ask that if you are on the fence, please consider your pledge an investment for the future. With the help of an excellent community and a strong library of launch titles we believe the perceived value of the Rift will only increase.

Thank you! :)
