So, not the best of news sadly as City of Titans a spiritual successor for the superhero MMORPG City of Heroes may not get a native port to Linux.
I spoke to the developers on their kickstarter and they had this to say about a Linux port (they gave me full permission to post this).
Q: This may be a dumb question but will it have a Linux version?
QuoteEventually. There are a few things we need from Epic first to know when we can deliver it, but it is very much on my "to do" list.
One of our developers is the guy who made the CoH launcher for Linux as well. Even if we are using Wine for it (I still am pushing for native) we will get a version which runs.

Q: So City of Titans could have a Linux version that is using Wine but you will be trying to get it native?
QuoteIf we can't get the native to work, we have Wine as the fallback position with someone experienced in setting up a launcher for it.
I have asked if their Mac version will use Wine or if it will be native as it will be interesting to see and to find out why it may be difficult for them to go native on Linux.
UPDATE:
Q: Hmm interesting, will the Mac version be native or use Wine as well?
QuoteUnreal is already available in a Mac native form, it is the Linux version which has not been upkept over the years.
They have already hit over their target with 26 days left and they are trending towards $1.7million.

Quoting: Quote from Xpanderfor me personaly it doesnt matter if its wine port or native.. if the features and performance is on par with other OS and there are no issues with that port im totally fine with it.This is the way I think too, a native port would be much, much better, I prefer they avoid this, but if it´s the only way and if they make it with no problems and running smooth, why not?
Although we are getting games that run on the Unreal engine natively now?? This dont make sense.
Quoting: Quote from Orkultus"Unreal is already available in a Mac native form, it is the Linux version which has not been upkept over the years."they are ported individually by each game studio not the unreal engine creators iirc
