Welcome to the home of Egbert and Frogbert's Crystal Picnic, a 16-bit style action RPG in development by Nooskewl.
Recently we released alpha version 10 of our RPG/platformer Egbert and Frogbert's Crystal Picnic.
To summarize our progress so far, we've got an storyline introduction which introduces the main characters and plot, the main village is fully fleshed out as well as another town-type area, one large dungeon with boss encounter is completed and another smaller dungeon with introduction to another important character and the third playable character is done.
We estimate that we are 25% of the way to completing the game. Our next task (after a short break as we fight burnout) is another dungeon with a very epic (not using the word loosely!) boss battle. We are partially done that. We have already fully implemented the third character into the game as you can see in this video:
This will be part of ALPHA11, expected early in November. We're trying to raise money to cover our costs (the company owner is paying the expenses with a bank loan at the moment) by selling alpha/pre-order access to the game now, though we understand that an alpha is not as enticing as the full game will be later. Also, our composer is selling pre-orders for the soundtrack now.
We really appreciate feedback at this stage so we can get things right before it's too late. If you have any comments on the video, or other videos on our channel, we would like to hear them.
