..."please oh please let it be Counter Strike: Global Offensive."
I bought CS GO before steam even came to Linux in anticipation ( I'm impatient ) but yeah, that about sums it up for me.

I've had a lot of performances issues with L4D2 on Linux (a lot of input lag, stuttering, micro-freezes, fps drop...) and was hoping that they came from a lack of optimization during the beta but nope, still the same now... :/

Input lag on Valve games is often fixed by simply turning off the Steam Overlay. Probably not a great option on a multi-player game like L4D2 though! I'm lucky that I get perfect performance in Ubuntu with that game. Most games in fact. I hope it gets fixed for you. Probably not too late to file a bug on github.
As for the next game, I'm really, really hoping for Portal 2. CSGO would be nice too, but most of my friends have moved on from that game, so a quality single-player experience in Portal 2 would be superb.

Well, performances are better when I use Openbox rather than Unity. And they're quite good in other Source games (HL2, TF2, Dota 2), even with Unity; that's why I thought it came from the fact that the game was in beta and didn't really bother reporting a bug. Anyway, the issues are probably driver-related (ATI Catalyst for the win, yayyy...).
And Portal 2 would be great, yeah (it's quite fun in 2 players co-op too).

IMO most played games should have higher priority, see the stats:

So yea is probably better for CS:GO to come first. But they might be working on porting more than 1.

I hope they fixed my issue of being kicked every time I try to join multiplayer. I hope the next game is portal 2 since I really dislike the counter strike series. But both would be nice. Then all that's needed is alien swarm. Once portal 2 is released we will start getting games that were using that engine as well.

personally im really hoping for civ5 and portal 2(and pretty please skyrim). multiplayer fps died for me after quake3 : ) but there are obviously loads of people playing cs:go so yah, they should port it first.
