We told you it would come and it finally has, we got notified via twitter from the porter in question that Painkiller: Hell and Damnation (Steam Link) now in beta and be sure to read the release notes.

Not much can be done about this because of the way the Unreal Engine 3

It's a bit sad to see more games come out that don't have cross-platform multiplayer on them (like Worms in the recent Humble Bundle), I guess sometimes it cannot be helped for older ports. I hope no brand new games do this though.
Compatibility for multiplayer will be added the developer confirmed:

I'm wondering why they chose Painkiller, because it's not the best game in their catalogue (quite mediocre actually).I'm not interested in Painkiller, but I'm wondering if Nordic Games can port Alan Wake and Gothic 3. I'd also appreciate Dungeon Lords MMXII.Gothic 3 huuuuummmmm, lovely

Just because it is one of the few titles that put your skills over scripts doesn't mean it's "medicore game", I'd actually rate it 10/10.

More importantly than that, the best way to get studios to port more is to actually buy what they make available.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the concept of traditional FPS based more on skill than on a story (I like Quake II a lot). I just think that the original Painkiller is better game (more levels and mor fun). Hell and Damnation added modern graphic but cut levels. Also mediocre doesn't mean bad.

It's downloading on my box right now!I did yesterday but havent had a chance to launch it yet, let us know how it goes.
I cant wait to play this at the LAN party at work. I just need to wait for the multiplayer to work with windows as most of us are on linux but some still use windows. Does anyone know if this is on mac too?
