While included in the recent Humble Bundle, Worms Reloaded was not actually downloable and playable on Steam, well it now is!

About
Command a team of worms in the artillery strategy game Worms: Reloaded. Guide your troop across a destructible 2-D landscape and use your arsenal of wacky weapons, such as the Super Sheep or a Holy Hand Grenade, to blow your opponents sky-high. Take a baseball bat to another worm to send them plunging into the water and instant death.
You can grab it right now from Humble Bundle or from Steam.
I am very found of the Worms series, played it a lot on Amiga originally and loved the sound effects, it is a pitty it doesn't have cross-platform multiplayer though.

I could download my when I bought it the other day... Is it because I was in beta?

I have 102 games on Steam all Linux compatible (most of them through HumbleBundle) and only 66 are playable in Linux.

We had a bunch of post-SteamLUG Cast games this morning, which was pretty sweet. We did have one dual booting person who was on Windows and couldn't work out why they were having trouble joining though. The lack of cross-platform multiplayer with Windows still feels crippling.
We had one game out of 6 or 7 get out of sync, and had a couple of crashes here and there, but I get that kind of thing happening with the Windows version anyway.
One thing I didn't realise was that it has always-on voice chat. I now wonder what the people I normally play with who don't have mics have heard me say over the years >_<

Do you have a couple of examples of what games are not playable?

Have they given a reason why there's no cross platform multiplayer?

Have they given a reason why there's no cross platform multiplayer? No communication that I've spotted, but you'd have to look back to when the Mac version was released, since that's when that's where the platform divergence originated (the Linux version is compatible with the Mac version).

Sadly no demo for Linux yet. I want to see for myself whether it is worth buying if you already own Worms Armageddon.

It appears that I'd misunderstood something I'd been told. After doing some testing myself, it seems that the Linux version can't play with the Mac version either.
Some responses from Team17 have been cropping up, but nothing that I've spotted really talks about what hurdles they faced and why they are content with things the way they are.
If I were to guess, I'd imagine that the title is probably considered End Of Life and not worth expending resources on. If this is the case, I hope that players are understanding and open minded about Team17 moving forward - if it turns out that any resources they might have spent on Reloaded could be going towards Linux compatibility for a future title, that would be a positive thing IMO.
