DOTA2 just got a whopper of an update featuring two new heroes and a butt-load of new features requested by the community.

New characters:
* Earth Spirit
* Ember Spirit
These are "cousins" to Storm Spirit an existing character.

You can now in-game coach someone how to play the game in training sessions, you can craft items out of old items and they have implemented a socket system where you can add gems and such into items.

They are running a DIRETIDE event from 14th-28th of November!

Other major changes:
  • Lanepicker added to hero selection screen (i can see this being useful for teams with multiple languages)
  • You can now invite to trade from within Dota 2, including people you aren't friends with (privacy settings available)
  • Bots now substitute for players that leave in Limited Hero mode
  • Added last hit training missions (this one will be useful for me!)
  • Changed low-priority penalty metric from time-based to games played
  • Game Voices and Sound Effects now have separate volume sliders
  • Added a damage sound to Blademail reflect (only audible to attacking player)
  • Added a sound on Diffusal Blade target units

Note also, that with the latest patches performance is much better (and lag free) that it was on the launch of the game.
