Infection: Last Rites is an episodic single-player-focused Action Horror/Survival Horror FPS game. Episode 1: "DNA" is set approximately 40 years in the future, the game offers a unique mature twist on the zombie genre - this is not the start of the outbreak, this is what happens next, when everything has been all but wiped out. Military trained, custom equipped and experienced at fighting the Infected, you are one of the few taking the risk that keep the remaining survivors alive. The finished game will feature separate, instantly selectable Action Horror and Survival Horror modes, allowing players to experience the play style they prefer.

I liked the look of it so much I did a video of it on Linux for you!

I already really like the game after playing it for a bit now, it's early and the performance does show it a bit (it can get a bit jittery) but I am sure that will get ironed out as they work on it.

I can't wait to see the other game modes get pushed out, if they manage to work in some co-op game-play as well I am sure it will fly off the digital shelves.

I will be watching this very closely!

What do you think folks?

Also kudos to Desura for finally adding the buy button code to pages, took them long enough, sure does make my job easier. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Well, if it follows the pattern. A lot of developers seem to take advantage of Desura's alphafunding in order to build a project up enough to get greenlit. Not that I can complain too much, as it ensures a non-Steam release at the end of it.

i would also like to see it on steam.
probably will buy from desura for now.. but i really dislike desura client for being so unstable (including desurium)
and i hate to wait for held back updates and lazy to search/install updates from games websites.

anyway the game seems interesting..
keeping my eye on it.

thanks for the video

you could probably get a lot more performance if you turned antialiasing off and then you could most likely turn everything else up. Its better usually to turn the resolution up instead of antialiasing, unless that was the native resolution of your monitor. Oh nevermind I just checked the video again and you had it at the new standard of 1920x1080 but you could still probably turn everything else up if you turn of AA.

Looks like a snip at that price, I'll buy. The zombie theme's been done to death (no pun intended!) but hey, if you've got to kill something then it's better than puppies and kittens.
