QuoteI wanted to let you know about a new indie PC game currently up on Greenlight and Kickstarter called Shaman. The game is a strategic spell casting game set in a fictional ancient China where you use medicinal magic to restore an ancient race of warrior shaman. It offers game play that mixes the combat ladder of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, the small mini-game mechanics of Order Up (Wii), spell casting, and the elemental relationships of traditional Chinese medicine.

Players assume the role of Pipa, a feisty, 19 year old girl who travels to Wudang mountain, the birthplace of Gong-Fu, to defeat a 2,000-year-old evil. Players must gather spell components from the mountain peaks, craft power medicines and magics, and then use those magics in real-time, arena-style spell duels in order to cure an ancient race of heroes who have been damned for eternity. By casting out and rejoining the mountain's 18 shadow demons the player must fight to banish the Last Immortal's evils from the earth once and for all.

Game play goal: Learn to Fight. Fight to Heal. Heal to Win.

Features:

- a real-time strategic spell casting game based on the concepts of Wu Xing (5 Elements) and traditional Chinese medicine.
- a game centered on the act of healing instead of killing.
- Player's craft their own spells from components they find.
- a third-person, single-player experience designed to be released in 6 episodes.
- set in a a fictional, ancient China.
- rendered in a graphic, comic book style.

It looks and sounds like it could be pretty fun, what do you make of it guys? It only has 11 days left to hit $27,000 so it's not a bridge too far for them.

They are also looking for votes on Steam's greenlight, so help them out willyas? Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

As featured as our third Hidden Gem on The Funding Crowd #22! Definitely looks like an intriguing title, a little bit different from just about everything else out there. Mind that your pledge is for the first episode only, but they're not looking for much funding and you can get involved for only $10.
