XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics.
Super excited about this one, wanted to play this for quite some time.
It has popped up on SteamDB a few hours ago:
And it goes on with more...
So get ready to face off against the Aliens and save the earth!
Who else is super excited to see another AAA game come our way? Especially this one as it's a re-boot of one of my favourite games XCOM: Enemy Unknown (released in 1994, yes they gave it the same title).

I honestly cannot believe I am actually doing a news post saying it's coming to Linux, this has been a good year for us. I didn't for a moment expect this one.
Edit:
Just bear in mind this is published by 2K Games who do a lot of games like Bioshock, Borderlands, NBA 2014 etc. It looks like Amazon did let the ball drop early and it wasn't as much of an error as we thought.

I really want to buy it now because of linux but I not sure if it could be mistake and then I will waste £7 :/
What you guys think?
If you have a Windows machine and want to play the game, I'd say go for it. if you're on Linux only, I'd advise you to wait for the Linux release.
The game will probably be -75% at Christmas again anyway and will have other promos at same price in the future, so there's no rush.

I am more worried that they will not release it on Linux that anything else. Because otherwise It would be wasted buy for me :(It looks like I can at last buy this game :). Of course when it will 100% appear on steam with Linux tag.You don't need to. They know what platform you play the game on. You're expected to do things like buying it during a sale even before it is out for Linux.

There are a few games that have been in the CDR base for quite some time and are yet to be released (e.g. Botanicula, LIMBO, System Shock 2...)
Besides, I think XCOM will be a lineup game for the Steam Machines and will probably be officially announced in january. I wouldn't count on a release before Christmas.
Well hell. I stand corrected.
Though I do think we'll see XCOM come out before Christmas, or at least sooner rather than later. To me, it seems Valve is positioning Steam Machines as both an alternative to and an extension of current PC gaming. They're more interested in building up a library at the moment, so I doubt they'll request anything currently on the market be held back for its official release. Anything that's out for Linux now will only strengthen Steam Machines later.
Also, for all the people saying it looks like 2K games are coming to Linux. Right now, I'm thinking it's more about Firaxis. Just because XCOM is about a 99% sure thing, and Civ V looking very, very likely, doesn't necessarily mean Borderlands 2 and Bioshock Infinite are just around the corner. They're all published by 2K, but made by multiple different studios. Studios who may or may not immediately support Linux.

Well, I stand corrected too. ;)
Valve has already announced that the Steam Machines will be officially presented at CES, along with a list of studios that have been working on games, so they are indeed helding back a bunch of AAA (or AAAish) games in order to have what can be considered a lineup for a new console (and the fact that it's a Firaxis game and we've seen Civ 5 in Steam Machines promo makes me think that XCOM is planned for the lineup).
Besides, when new Linux games appear in the CDR base, it usually takes a bit of time for them to be released. Four or five weeks looks short to me to go from "signs of Linux support" to "game works".
Anyway, if the game is available on Linux before Christmas, I'll be quite happy to be proven wrong. :)
