Apotheon Confirmed For Linux!

By Nicodemus -
Apotheon, the upcoming action game that leverage's a unique look based on ancient Grecian art styles is now confirmed for Linux!

It was unknown for some time whether the game would come to Linux or not.  The developer, Alientrap, has a prior title available for Linux, Capsized, but when asked at PAX whether their next title would be made available for Linux they could not give a sure answer.

It seems that events have moved in our favor and the game is now available for pre-order through the Humble store with a DRM-free option as well as a Steam key.

Will it feature historical events as well, like the battles of Marathon, Thermopyles ("Hot Gates") or Alexander the Great?

no clue! but the game sure looks great!  i think it has a large fantasy quality to it as well, for whatever that's worth.

oops, looks like i had a bit of a typo there, first sentence. "leverage's" should probably read "leverages."

i've already put my money down and let them know i did it for Linux! :D  looking forward to this one!

This actually looks really cool. Like the decorations on a Grecian funerary urn have come to life.

Cool!
It's the first time I preorder a game!

Looks cool... Reminds me of Patapon in some small way, but obviously very different games.

I wonder if the Capsized pre-order bonus is giftable, since I already own it.

Yep, the love child of Patapon and Mark of the Ninja, I think. Looks absolutely superb. I'll buy it when it hits Steam.

Hopefully it gets released alongside the other platforms. I'm currently waiting on Blood of The Werewolf, released over a month ago on Windows, to give a date when they might get the Linux port out. :|

Looks great! I am glad it's now coming to Linux as I noticed the game several months ago. Reminds me of Castlevania! Is Capsized available on the Humble Store and free of DRM as well? Just seems to be on Steam so far. Weird that there's one (Apotheon) but not the other (Capsized).

Uhm.  The preorder window only says you'll get the Steam key.
Plus you get capsized (key and DRM-free).  Does anyone know more?
Not preordering for now :(

ah, i see what you're saying.  i must have misunderstood the advert.  i thought it was qualifying both games as having both options.

sorry for the confusion.  feel free to contact the devs to let them know that you'd prefer a DRM free version as well!

Preorder Apotheon for Steam! Includes a copy of Capsized (DRM-free and Steam key).
That makes it sound like you can will be preordering Apotheon through Steam and that Capsized comes without DRM and a Steam key. Nevertheless, the Capsized website only has a purchase link that leads to Steam, and Apotheon is being sold via the Humble Widget. What's what now?
