Pixel Piracy is a side-scrolling 2d, real time strategy/sandbox/simulation game created by indie developer Vitali Kirpu and produced by Alexander Poysky. In the game, the player leads the life of a pirate captain. Recruit a crew, outfit and customize your ship and set sail on the open seas.
If you remember I introduced you to this little gem a few times before, so regular readers should remember the name!
It has now hit Steam for Linux in the Early Access section, no word on when the Linux version will hit their Desura page (I have asked though). They have a demo which is also currently Windows only at the moment no word on a Linux demo yet either.

Had to use their Desura trailer as they don't seem to have a trailer on their website, surprising how many developers don't have a trailer on their official site!
They have a very clear policy on videos clearly stated on their webpage too "PIXEL PIRACY VIDEOS CAN BE MONETIZED ANYWHERE!" so get LP'ing it folks!
It's another game that doesn't show up in the Linux new release section on Steam, so you probably missed this one.

Well, I bought it, tried it (latest Linux version is 0.5.0.0) on Debian sid and Ubuntu 13.10.
Configuration works. After Game start.. black screen. One hears sounds though.
Seems a rendering problem. The steam discussion list is full of such entries.
I should have checked that. Seems the developers dont care.
On Windows 8 apparently there is no such problem on similar hardware.
