One interesting thing about indie games is that they combine things in completely new interesting ways. For example, who would've thought about mixing steam punkish robots and the western gold rush into a single game? Well, now that has been done by the developers of SteamWorld Dig!
SteamWorld Dig is an adventure mining platformer by Image & Form set into a world full of robots. Why robots? I don't know and I care even less! You have received a claim for a mine in the middle of a town called Tumbleton that originally belonged to your uncle and you travelled there to find out what this is all about. After that you can start your operation of acquiring all possible minerals below the dirt for both fun and profit, which the emphasis on profit. Of course there are some mysteries to be solved during all the moneymaking...
This game sort of remind me of Spelunky and Starbound (read Terraria) and I think if you fused those two games together and threw in some steam punk robots you would have something like SteamWorld Dig. This isn't a bad thing though, I really like how the game is executed and the gameplay seems really solid. A developer said that the game plays fantastically with a gamepad and I have to agree with this, I just hope my gamepad gaming skills were a little better! :P

Dude, the text is right there in the video, you really don't have to read it out loud.

Nice episode as always :) I remember spending a few days obsessing on this game. It definitely triggers that OCD instinct of mine, as I carefully tunnelled to get every mineral.

I LOVED this game. I hope they make more with the same art style and such (gameplay could be similar or totally different). This was the second game I finished on Steam for Linux (10 000 000 was my first, and To The Moon being the only other since this one). Now to find time for the other 200+ games...

If you were able to read you'd know I didn't tell him to not speak, just not read out all the conversations in the game.
It would be more useful if he talked about his experience with the game, not the stuff we can already see.

Quoting: Quote from AnonymousThat's a valid point. I wasn't completely sure what to do with those conversations and because I normally do Let's Play videos I went ahead and did what I usually do, which means reading everything possible out loud. I have to agree that it didn't work so well with the GOL Cast format and I will try to avoid that in the future.Quoting: Quote from liamdaweQuoting: Quote from krscueDude, the text is right there in the video, you really don't have to read it out loud.If he didn't say things out aloud it wouldn't be a cast.
