Lauri, Frozenbyte TeamSorry it has taken so long! We are doing a major update to Trine 1 and the Linux version will be included in that version. The DRM-free Linux version was done by other team so we cannot use that one directly in Steam, or that would be quite difficult at least. We are hoping to release the Steam Linux version during this summer, but there may come some unexpected delays.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: CliffI will be skipping any more Frozenbyte games as much as I liked the original trine. When it says it runs on Linux and they actually mean it only runs on Udumbtoo I am not interested. Missing dependencies on Debian Stable and Testing for Trine the complete series.
I could run them in Debian Stable and Debian Testing. Don't install deb packages, run in the console and install any libraries missing, I think it worked that way for me.

Frozenbyte's games can be a pain to run library wise, but that has nothing do with them only supporting Ubuntu. In fact, Trine 2 is officially supported on Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and OpenSUSE. I think you can save some of that anger for those who deserve it and concentrate on fixing your problem.

New response of developers about this:
Sorry for the delay.
So, actually we don't own the code made by the partner company. In other words we don't have the code and wouldn't be even able to use it. Instead of trying to get the code (or make arrangements) we are planning to do our own Linux version for the game without 3rd companies. Can't say anything about the schedule yet though.
I hope this clarifies something and sorry for the possible inconvenience.
Let me know if you have any other questions about this. Cheers.
