Planet Explorers is a single and multi-player RPG game built in Unity that was Kickstarted early last year, it's pleasing to see it come along and it has come a long way that's for sure with a new trailer and a demo.

I have to say that it looks bloody epic! Looks like it has a mix of good graphics with some solid action and I can't wait!

The Story
It is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explore, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, conquer the land.

They plan a full single-player campaign with a story, NPC characters and lots of stuff to see as well as random single and multi-player adventure maps. One thing that really excites me is they are planning full LAN and online play (looks like some of it is shown in the new trailer too), this will include multiple different game-modes.

More exciting stuff ahead though, you will be able to construct weapons, vehicles including boats and mech-units and more!

They have been releasing updates quite often along with updates demo versions which is quite impressive, I eagerly await the final version as I downloaded the demo myself as I couldn't hold myself back.

First Impressions
It seems like it will be a pretty decent RPG on completion with some interesting building elements, sadly as it is using Unity3D the performance isn't stellar (although I am not sure if that is Unity or my now tech-wise ageing nvidia 560ti) , luckily though there wheren't any mouse issues which I do usually get in Unity games so that's a big plus.

It has been greenlit for Steam too, so good news for Steam fans.
