Steam Bandits: Outpost New To Steam For Linux

By -
A new release for Linux in Steam's Early Access is Steam Bandits: Outpost what will become a free to play game in the future, it looks pretty decent too.

Currently you can pay to get in early and get some extras, which will power the developers forward with extra money of course. It seems they are doing a Valve free to play model with not a hint of this "pay to win" rubbish, it's vanity items only (think hats).

About
In Steam Bandits: Outpost, you play as the newly-hired skyrunner of a burgeoning trade outpost in the floating world of Stratos. It’s up to you to manage your outpost and assemble your party to explore the furthest reaches of the skies. Armed with only a handful of gold, your dashing good looks, and a kindly clockbot assistant, you’ll run into obstacles and misadventure, but success will earn you a place as one of the wealthiest, most stylish denizens of Stratos. Fortune favors the bold!

Personally I think it looks fantastic and I am eager to see how the developers keep it going.

Warning: Wipes will be frequent as it's a very early version, personally I am holding off until the wipes stop. It also requires you to be online to play as it syncs to their servers, as it can be played cross-device so you could pick-up a tablet and play the same world you did on Linux. I very much like these cartoonish graphics!

Wow, that looks like my kind of game! Wipes is the only reason I probably won't jump into it yet. Just like Starbound, I'm waiting for it to stabilize, before putting days into it.
