The problem is 1:1 pricing, so $8 would equal £8 for example (when right now it should be £4.79), although developers can manually set their own pricing for different regions if they wish.

So they have joined Desura & Steam in allowing 1:1 pricing which will only annoy people.
Checking prices on Steam, they seem to be one of the few places that aren't doing 1:1 pricing. Steam does do it for some regions, but not all.

This is bull****. I don't understand why I should pay more than an American gamer. There is this riduculous image in the heads of game developers and retailers that people in Europe roll in diamonds. A quick reality check would show the average wage is much lower in 2/3 of European countries comapred to US. Not to mention it's unfair to charge gamers from richer countries more, either. We should all pay the same price for a game. The complete Crusaders kings II collection went fromm 79.99 USD to 79.99 EUR. Thanks, Obama...

I have a $5/mo VPS purely for this reason (well, and to circumvent the ridiculous British internet blocks).
And it's another £4~ more expensive in GBP (£69.99).
So, £47.84 in US, £65.84 in Europe or £69.99 in the UK...

It's weird, because even though most games are the same price as on Steam, something like Proteus costs half an € more on Humble than on Steam...

Only GOG has had the resolve not to introduce different currencies and thus screw gamers over.
A pitty, but I don't think GOG will ever support Linux. Not until it takes over Windows (if that ever happens).

This is a surprisingly dumb move. Is GOG the only sane distributor which doesn't do such crazy stuff?
I think GOG will start supporting Linux, around the same time they'll release Witcher 3 for it. It might be a while until that though.

Outside of sales, Steam is really bad pricing wise. I recall when Crusader Kings 2 came out on Linux. I went to buy it on Steam (for about £30) and thought, let me check Amazon.
Got the original game and a couple of expansion packs for about £8. Used the code on steam and happy days.
Now with sales, they kick ass. Certainly a convenience store. Even EU4 could be bought around the place for about £10 less then on Steam the day it came out, but by then I had such a hard on for Paradox that I wanted to give them the extra money through a pre-order.
300hrs and counting on ck2... damn them.

omg this could end my humble bundle use. I only did buy almost every bundle because they where in dollars and they are dirt cheap.
