Well now this is quite interesting, a friendly tip came in today that there is now a Linux SDK for CryEngine.
Today Linux has been added into the list of operating systems that it supports (taken from SteamDB).
So, could it be that CryEngine is actually about to announce Linux support? Seems not so far fetched now with this new information.
This would also be good news for the Kickstarters that came in recently using CryEngine that have planned Linux support (maybe they even knew this already, but couldn't share it).
Of course a SteamDB entry is not confirmation, but it does go some ways and it does usually turn out true. Interesting that this lands on Steam's one year anniversary.
This is what happens when such a big company pushes Linux so hard, people jump on board.

It seems to be truth, because this link from Crytek website looking for Linux Programers
"http://www.crytek.com/career/offers/overview/frankfurt/programming-engineering/linux-programmer" is not available anymore... "Vacancy has been filled and is no longer available. Please check other open vacancies at our studios worldwide, or send us an Unsolicited Application" I guess that Cryengine4Linux is coming soon.

Well yea, but also lets remember its competing with other nice looking engines that have full or partial linux support:
Source engine 1 and 2, Unity3d, Unigine, Some Unreal engine games have been ported, etc.

The sentence you quoted, was not directed at crytek but at steam, you know, the company with the candle at the front of the line braving the way for all those others you mentioned plus also crytek ofc.

I know, that's why I wrote what I wrote ;)
Is not only because Valve is pushing hard, but also thanks to competing engines gaining marketshare and offering features like extra platforms / linux porting, etc..

If you look at kingdom come deliverance, which is based on the Cry Engine ... and they will feature a linux port ... ye, it will.
They even have a statement somewhere about it where they say "it will feature linux, that's all we can tell".
