The guys at Unknown Worlds are at it again, Natural Selection 2 has a new major version named "Dropship" that adds some really sweet features.
New Stuff
Organised play - An entirely new way to setup a game, making it easy to setup matches with multiple people. They say doing something like starting a 6v6 game is a few button clicks away, very nifty for tournments.
NS2World Championship Emblems - The finalists in their tournament have each gotten a unique DLC emblem you can buy on Steam that get displayed on your player, 50% of the proceeds go to each team too, so you help fund NS2 e-sports by doing it.
They have also fixed a massive amount of issues, they weren't kidding when they called it a "monster changelog", a major highlight is this:
Consistency checking now uses a much faster algorithm which in many cases may decrease load-times, thank the gods.
See the full update post here. They haven't even listed all the fixes, they claim around 9,000 bugs where fixed, holy cow!
Unknown Worlds are a developer I can easily back, the game is not only fun, but well supported.

In terms of well supported I believe this means that the devs are actively releasing patches.
However , the lack of good enough debugging tools on linux is an issue that Valve is trying to tackle.

I also now have that issue.
I fixed it by disabling the Steam overlay from steams right click menu on NS2, an odd fix, but the same happens with another game.

So you went to right click on NS2, properties, and unchecked "Enable Steam Community In-Game". Then launched?
