Well now, this was a nice surprise, it looks like Portal 2 is extremely close to dropping onto Linux.
Update: You need to manually opt-into the beta according to Valve. Find it in the beta tab on the properties section of Portal 2.

To quote the excellent SteamDB entry for Portal 2
The epic sequel to the puzzle game Portal will be a welcome addition to everyones Linux library I am sure.
Features
Extensive single player: Featuring next generation gameplay and a wildly-engrossing story.
Complete two-person co-op: Multiplayer game featuring its own dedicated story, characters, and gameplay.
Advanced physics: Allows for the creation of a whole new range of interesting challenges, producing a much larger but not harder game.
Original music.
Massive sequel: The original Portal was named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.
Editing Tools: Portal 2 editing tools will be included.
You can report bugs to the official github page for Portal 2 Linux right here.
Have you been waiting for it?

Quoting: s_dWut.I assumed that it was in my library because I had already bought it.
Does this mean (effectively) all Linux folks get P2 for free?! At least beta quality?

Bought this so long ago I can't remember! My Win partition's been gone a good while but was waiting on the native version anyway.
Download speed's not the best today but I've waited this long... :D

Nah. I had The Orange Box on Steam already, but Portal 2 on XBox. No sign of it here. :( Still, it's cool that it's finally coming to Linux. Not that I ever doubted it would.

Quoting: liamdaweQuoting: Half-ShotBloody hell Liam, how do you do that so fast :DImagine the film the Matrix, I am plugged into it.
matrix 1 was great, if you were plugged into the 2nd or 3rd film, i would be really worried,
i love valve, has there ever been an attempt to put the portal gun in team fortress or in half-life? it just seems too limiting to have the portal gun for only puzzles but no action.
