Shadowrun: Dragonfall RPG DLC Released For Linux

By -

42 years after Shadowrun Returns is the epic new DLC, Shadowrun: Dragonfall which is sure to get all fans excited, including me!

One of the best bits about this is the new save anywhere feature, which is available to the original game now too. Arguably though it should have been there from the start, I cannot stand checkpoint only saved-games as they feel like a punishment nowadays.

I am quite a fan of Shadowrun Returns and will be picking this DLC up when I finish the first game!

Shadowrun: Dragonfall Features
Experience a New Full-Length Campaign: Return to the “Tech meets Magic” future of Shadowrun in an all-new 12+ hour campaign. Operating out of an offbeat hub neighborhood, you’ll choose which missions to accept and how you’ll approach them while navigating the dark underbelly of “the Flux”.

An Exciting New Locale: Shadowrun: Dragonfall transports runners to the Free City of Berlin, a thrilling Shadowrun setting full of gorgeous new hi-res environments, a diverse new cast of characters, and a new soundtrack by Sam Powell, the composer of the original Sega Genesis Shadowrun game.

Command Your Team: Lead a small team of shadowrunners, each with their own outlook and backstory. The members of your team are designed to play unique roles during missions, and each has a distinct set of skills, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.

New Weapons, Portraits, Enemies & More: Try your hand at the long-range sniper rifle, explosive grenade launcher, or stun-inducing taser. Chrome yourself out in the latest cyberware, and take on deadly new enemies - including new magical creatures like gargoyles and fire drakes. Dragonfall brings a host of new items, characters, over 60 new portraits to choose from, and many other improvements to the Shadowrun Returns experience.

Save Anywhere: You can save your progress at any time during the game. The new save-game functionality is available in new downloads of Shadowrun Returns and through a patch for all existing copies.

Looks like there is a Bug in the Linux version. They are uploading a Hotfix apparently, in the meantime you can follow this:
"
Hey Folks,

There is a casing issue with the latest patch on Steam. There is a Hotfix going up very soon, but if you wish to play now please follow the following steps:

1) Right click on Shadowrun Returns and click 'Properties'
2) Select the Local Files tab and click 'Browse Local Files'
3) In the revealed folder, go to Shadowrun_Data/StreamingAssets/standalone
4) Rename the Seattle folder to seattle.
5) For Dragonfall users, rename the Berlin folder to berlin

We apologize for the inconvenience to our Linux users.

Shadowrun returns is an enjoyable game. But the price for the DLC is a bit steep (14Euros).

Its another 12+ hour campaign in a new environment, so pretty much a new game you just have to consider it that way really. I was thinking it was overpriced but its cheaper than the game and as I said same sort of length so kind of worth it.
