Starbound the fantastic universe-sandbox game will be updated in the future to change the way player progression currently works.

They have stated the current way you progress is temporary just to get the game going, that is until they complete engine changes needed.

There will in future be only three sectors, the starting sector, a player vs player sector and a creative sector with no dangers, so it sounds like it will include everything players want from Starbound, good news everyone!

They will also be introducing an "outpost" planet, a safe and populated planet to chat, trade and do whatever social things you like. I was hoping more for a sort of space station rather than a planet (was thinking of DS9 from Star Trek).

I think it's easily one of the best games we have on Linux right now, and it's extremely fun. Nothing is more satisfying than having some crappy sword and finding a high powered rifle. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
