Starbound my favourite indie game of the moment has released a new major patch titled 'Enraged Koala'. Sadly it came with a few game-breaking issues like beds not working, they have released some hot-fixes to hopefully solve the issues.

The best thing about the patch is it enables them to push content out really quickly and easily, so expect to see a lot more awesome patches soon.

New Stuff
Valentine’s Day items including swords, costumes, decorations, bow, etc
Engine feature, tech can now be granted by armors
Keybinding reconfiguration, minus the UI (you can reconfigure keys through a config file- check here for a tutorial)
Server stability fixes for servers with many players
New death animations
Engine feature, all objects are now scriptable and interactive
More Avian weaponry
Projectile changes
Dogs can now be captured (lots more pets coming soon)
A bunch of new items and smaller pieces of content
New (actually sounds good!) microphone instrument with sounds provided by Smooth McGroove!
Bug where warping to magma/volcano biomes caused crashing was fixed.

Random chests are missing, the ship's locker disappeared.

If you haven't launched the update yet...

Backup ~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/Starbound/player before playing, just in case they release another hotfix. As of right now, my old backup hasn't helped.

Currently the only way to fix things like the missing ship locker it is to bite the bullet and delete your *.shipworld and let the game regenerate it.
