Dust: An Elysian Tail is a pretty new game for our little platform, and thanks to being included in a recent Humble Indie Bundle they have now hit 1 million sales and we have Linux stats for you.

The developer stated on twitter that Linux made up 1% of sales on Steam, now just bear in mind that the Linux version has been out for less than a year that is actually really damned good.

It is good to see Linux making its mark on developers.

It was our regular Half-Shot who tweeted the developer to get the response:

@MolramsGaming Linux version hit very recently, reflecting about 1% of Steam purchases. Humble Bundle also has a nice breakdown graph.

I bought this game last week and think it's really good. It's strange to see the logo of Microsoft in my Ubuntu.

Got this a while back. Very pretty, but the writing and voice acting became unbearable. I came off with the impression that this is for anime fans.

I loved this game. Finished it - an excellent 12 hours. The voice acting was a high standard, I thought, so I'm not sure what annoyed you Babits...

You know, 1 million sales, 1% is Linux - that's 10k sales, £11.99 on Steam. If half of those were from the Humble Bundle and we ignore them completely (which is a bit unfair), that's still £60k in sales. It couldn't have cost anywhere near that to port, so I hope this is a developer who sees some value from the platform, even without the "Steam Machine" promise.

Well I purchased it, but haven't even installed it yet.

from the bundle:

About 10 to 12% from linux.

$2,220,309.00 = ~220k

almost 473,000+ bundles sold.

so That could be like 40k linux users.

As for Steam, would probably be like ~400k copies sold since launch. Probably like ~100k copies on the Humble store.

Add all and you get ~1M copies sold.

Tell me about it, I was worried for a second... then relaxed when I saw the D:AET logo :)

I didn't think it was thaaaat bad. I think the story could have dome with some more polish, a bit more linking together and following up on previous events but I felt the voice acting was plenty good enough for a indie game, one which didn't actually have plans for voice acting until MS requested it.

Was that a note to me as the editor? I don't get what you're wanting?

I presume he was talking to me about Microsoft being the publisher of Dust:AET. In that case they barely were after the Xbox Days and its been 2 years since then. But yeah I know where the MS logo came from; with his involvement with XNA.
