Update: It is now released, early!
You may not remember, but we told you Earth 2140 would come to Linux, well it is finally about to happen courtesy of RuneSoft.
They tweeted about it recently, and it took them a day or so, but the Desura page is finally up! It has a stand-alone download, so you do not need the outdated Linux Desura client.
Earth 2140 is quite an old game now being released originally in 1997, but it's still a fantastic Real Time Strategy game.
Here is some actual game-play footage thanks to youtube:

It's a lot like the early Command & Conquer games and it doesn't look like it has aged too badly!
About
After numerous wars and several environmental disasters, only two world powers remain; The United Civilized States (»UCS«)and the Eurasian Dynasty (»ED«). The damage caused by the long wars forced both world powers to evacuate the population to recently built underground cities. Natural resources are becoming scarce and have to be extracted above ground. There have been a number of small conflicts between the UCS and the ED, the last of which escalated and became a fierce and bitter war - the final world war. Only one side can win. This final war will decide who will get the last of the available natural resources and ultimately rule the world. Gameplay EARTH 2140 is a real time strategy game involving the high tech warfare of the 22nd century. More than 120 exciting missions, an unprecedented artificial intelligence, more than 100 ground units, mechs, flying units and ships are at your command.
Anyone else looking forward to this one?

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: liamdaweFrom what I know only one guy is doing the Linux ports at RuneSoft, so don't expect quick releases.
It is actually at least two people, both of which are also involved with the liflg project.

Well, there are two people listed on the RuneSoft Desura profile:
http://www.desura.com/company/runesoft/members
I have also spoken with them in the past, and they both seem to be fielding questions on RuneSoft's behalf on the Earth 2140 page. Not that any of this changes both of our general sentiments on the matter though.

I know, like I said though only one person is working on their Linux ports at the moment, both do work for RuneSoft though.
One is doing mobile related stuff atm, like I said I've been chatting to them.
Edit > Got it cleared up, they are both doing Linux stuff.

The Steam version still says Mac and Windows support only. I wonder if they're not releasing it on Steam for some reason. :(
