Planet Explorers is a really good-looking open world/sandbox RPG with a ton of features and a full story.
They are now in early access on Steam and are hoping to reach more people, remember since it is early access there will be bugs!
Back in January I gave it some initial first impressions you can see here. So, regular GOL visitors should already know about this one as a later article mentioned they had planned a Steam release as well.
The game was Kickstarted in April on 2013, so it hasn't been going for too long and is already delivering big. They gained well over their requested goal too, so I hope they have enough money with now being on Steam to continue until they finish it.
About
In Planet Explorers, it is the year 2287, one of the first colony ships sent out by Earth arrives at the planet Maria, in the Epsilon Indi Star System. During its landing sequence, something appears in front of the massive ship that causes it to lose control and crash into the planet. Some of the colonists survive in lifeboats, but what they find is an unforgiving land filled with creatures ready to outlast the visitors from Earth. Now the survivors must explorer, gather, build, create, fight, and ultimately, build a new home.
The game has four modes:
I do have high hopes for this one, just the performance was somewhat lacking last time I tried it sadly even with my nvidia 560ti I had to turn the settings down quite a lot.
There is a demo outside of Steam here and you can still buy it from them directly here too.

- The main rpg story, which is pretty big!
- An adventure mode where you can do random missions, fight random bosses, and more
- Build mode where you can just build whatever you want
- Multiplayer on LAN or online, with coop and versus game modes

looks interesting indeed..i tested demo also quite some time ago.
performance is not that great for 2 reasons: first its unity3d engine which is known to have perf problems under linux and secondly they are using opencl which is weakpoint of nvidia gpu's.
__GL_THREADED_OPTIMIZATION=1 %command% helps a lot though

Looked interesting, I'll probably check out the demo. However I'm getting tired of this early access saturation XP
