Another game engine highlight for you today, this time it is V-Play a 2D game engine that enables you to code once for many platforms.
Looks like a pretty good engine for just 2D games, interesting that it just uses an existing IDE for working with it.
I do wonder how smaller engines will survive with the big ones (CryEngine, Unreal Engine) offering such low prices now. When you consider that this is aimed at 2D games rather than 3D it may still have a market.
V-Play also seems more aimed towards mobile than desktop, although it does fully support the desktop too. Could be a good engine and toolkit to use if you want to develop for mobile & desktop while on Linux. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The game engine's are not going to stop coming to Linux as they are going to make cash from Linux either way :)

For a game engine, linux support is actually pretty much work, even though having a mac port not too much but still enough considering the different display protocols and sound system. Cash yes, the question is: will it be profit too?

they can use OpenAV as well and not care much about the sound. A lot of them hopefully do. But it often does not give you the flexibility you want, so you "customize", and there the problems start ;-).
