For the first time in over 20 years, we are heralding the return of a much loved piece of gaming history with the classic RPG, Wasteland! Mutants. Again. Even more than there were last time: they seem to materialize out of the very grains of the radioactive desert sand. Venomous yellow eyes. The black gunmetal glint of Uzis as they close in for the kill. There's nowhere to run, and nothing to rely on but your MAC 17 machine gun. What a way to save the human race. Now something more secretive and sinister than the usual roving bands of mutants and raiders is menacing humanity, and it's your job to investigate. Recruit the help you need, follow any leads you find, but beware. The wasteland is lawless desert and a lonely place, and the choices you make will shape the world around you. Better choose wisely. Your life depends on it.

I got it from backing Wasteland 2. I tried it out for a few minutes and I'm sure it was great back in the day, but yeah, not doing it for me anymore. And I like retro games (#1 game of all time is ActRaiser).
This isn't a port, as it uses DOSbox anyhow, so I'm sure the anti-Steam crowd already got it from GOG or whatever if they really wanted it.

The linux version on steam is already drm free. At lease I can move the files and launch the game without steam open in the background. That counts as drm free in my book.

Sure it is DRM-Free! It's not possible to put the Steam-Stuff into an old DOS-Game :D. The "linux version" is the DOS-Game bundled with the native Linux DOSBox binaries. Which doesn't count as linux version in my book :D

I'm not sure that it's always the case. Somehow Steam managed to poison Loom for example, that it's not playable in ScummVM. At least that's what I've heard (I'm not using Steam so I can't verify that).

Well, Steam has re-released the CD-Version from 1992 of Loom including voices, which is kinda messed up, and not the original DOS-Version from 1990.

I recommend the Amiga-Version of Loom anyway. IMHO the best :)

I have a CD version with voice acting which works in ScummVM fine. Steam obviously uses something else. I use that and FM Towns version which has no voice acting but has full dialogs and close up portraits (it works in ScummVM as well).

Actually it does not use dosbox. I just checked the files, and no dosbox anywhere. So it is a genuine updated port, with no drm.
There are a number of games (not many) with no drm on steam. There is an (incomplete) list here:

Basically an updated engine is used in the steam releases, and it is scummvm incompatible. Compatibly could be added, it is not difficult, but it won't be for political reasons.
