Cult County First-Person Survival Horror Game

By -

Cult County is an all-new first-person survival horror game that blends the episodic story-telling of The Walking Dead with the classic tension-filled exploration and action of Silent Hill and Resident Evil, presenting an opportunity for fans to help a veteran team produce a new experience that is fresh, exciting, and scary!

This is another massive Kickstarter as they are looking for $580K to complete their mission. It supports Linux from the get-go with no silly stretch goals, so they have my vote for that.

QuoteThe minimum funded goal for Cult County covers the following platforms: Steam (PC, Mac & Linux)
Special Note for Steam Players: Cult County is already approved for Steam. It will not need to go through Greenlight! Thank you Valve!!

The Kickstarter is by Renegade Kid, an already well known and award winning indie game developer who has made a number of games for Nintendo platforms as well as "MUTANT MUDDS DELUXE" on Windows. So, they have a track record to go on which is more than most.

I have asked the developers if Linux will get a same-day release or if it will be delayed like others, I will update when I hear from them.
UPDATE - The developers replied.

Jools Watsham, Renegade KidEven though we're using Unity, which should make it a little easier, this will be our first Linux development. I expect there will be a delay after the Windows version, unfortunately.

It will set you back $15 if you want to at-least get the game, so it's not expensive thankfully.

They made almost 20k in the first 24 hours, so if they can keep that up & drum up awareness they might reach their goal. The Wii U version might actually pull in a large chunk of funding since Wii U has so few third party games coming & Renegade Kid have a good name with Nintendo fans. Here is to hoping.

I expected a delay for the Linux version, it's a small team. That said they are very talented & I'm sure they will deliver in the end.
