I recently wrote about Esenthel and it seems they are now moving to better align themselves with engines like CryEngine and Unreal Engine with subscriptions.

They have announced what was going to be Esenthel 3.0 is now just Esenthel Engine and will be continually updated as time goes on.

Esenthel is now available for as low as $14.99 a month, sadly that is still more expensive than the other major game engines, so I don't exactly see how they will compete at all.

To get the source code access (it's not open source, just access to the source) you need to pay the $499.99 fee for a years worth of subscription. When you look at the alternatives, Unreal Engine 4+ is only $19 a month with source code.

I don't quite get how Esenthel will compete with prices much higher than bigger more well known engines. They sure do have an uphill struggle with this one.

You can see the engine in action here:

Any list of noteworthy games made with Esenthel (That's really hard to say/type)? Anything that actually runs on Linux right now?
