Exogenesis is hoping to win it big on Kickstarter. A PC adventure/visual novel hybrid inspired by Ace Attorney and Zero escape games set in post-apocalyptic Japan. It offers up a demo for you to try before you back it too.

You can grab a demo right away here and let us know how it goes for you.

Inspired by Ace Attorney and Zero Escape games, Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ is an ADVENTURE GAME/VISUAL NOVEL HYBRID which combines the point-and-click gameplay of adventure games with the heavy focus on storytelling found in visual novels.

This is something I could get into, visual novels on their own a bit weird to me since I would rather read the book or watch the anime, but one that actually puts some game-play into it like this, that I think we can all get behind.

Due for release at the end of this year, so we don't even have long to wait. No crazy Linux stretch goal either.

Features
  • 20+ hours of gameplay across 6 chapters, spanning over 150k+ words with multiple endings
  • Over 60 major and minor characters
  • Alternate between exploration and puzzle solving, with mini-puzzles during exploration
  • Gather evidence from puzzles and conversations to recruit your former comrades
  • Stunning rendition of post-apocalyptic Japan with real-life landmarks
  • 3-4 hour demo
