Game Develop is a good bit of free kit for developers wanting to create games without programming or for things like prototyping. The have a Linux version currently, but they want funds to improve it.

There have been a few updates from Florian Rival the developer since we posted about it originally, including this video of creating a platformer:

We wrote about this originally on March 23rd, and since then it has raised 424€, sadly not a lot.

I think tools like this are important for Linux and with Multimedia Fusion and Construct 2 both having no plans for a Linux editor this is mainly our option right now.

I do still wish the developer offered up a zipped stand-alone download instead of a .deb file for Ubuntu. It seems the developer didn't take our words of wisdom from the last post about that. You can support just one distro if you really want, but at least offer an easy download for the others.
