Not long ago the tool Unknown Worlds wrote to convert Natural Selection 2's DirectX calls into OpenGL was open sourced, it has now been updated to build properly.

Since it was pulled directly from the NS2 source code it wouldn't have worked originally due to missing dependencies, that should now be solved.

I would hope in future as Linux gains more of a foothold in developers minds that OpenGL will either be called directly along-side DirectX, or for developers to just not use DirectX and save themselves some time.
