ReignMaker is a city building political strategy game with match-3 tower defense combat. Did that make your head hurt as much as it hurt mine? What a mouthful!
I have to say though, this does sound like it could offer up quite a lot of fun with such a broad mix of game-play styles.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
My other half and I both got copies, and played it a ton of hours already without being finished for even one of the three town types on normal difficulty. The boss battles are pretty hard -- I've needed to experiment with combinations of troops, spells, and items to get by each one. ReignMaker is definitely worth the full price from my perspective, let alone the sale price.

How did you get past the first level? It won't let me build the academy. Just takes the money and does nothing. I've sent them a bug report so we will see

Weird, neither of us ran into that bug yet, with a total of 5 towns started so far (some in easy mode, some in normal). In my main town I've got the academy maxed out to level 5 now...
At first I had problems with a crash on start, but that turned out to be just because I hadn't installed the basic x86 libs yet on this 64-bit install and the stained-glass movie part needed one of them (not an obvious dependency shown with 'ldd', but something in ia32-libs must have been needed because installing them solved the problem).

Is this in the steam version? Seems I'm not the only one with this issue

No, I got the separate download from Frogdice, which is why I could install ia32-libs and have everything work right (the devs just posted an update on the Steam thread that your issue was the Steam build missing a lib).

Yes, they did fix it. Works great now. Really cool folks there at Frogdice.

I am enjoying this game. I like the extra features to a match three puzzle game. Plus its way cheaper than Faeverse.

Yeah I really like the added tactical dimension of picking out different spells/troops/gear for different boards, and strategy of deciding when to use them while still keeping the matches going to kill enemies and re-power the spells.

FIRST: Thank you all for the kind words. I am so glad you're all enjoying the game so much. Thanks for helping to spread the word.
SECOND: I am going to risk sounding whiny. I hope I don't. Please forgive me in advance.
$9.99 is expensive? How do you folks expect us game developers to stay in business? We have a team of 8 full time staff and a number of part timers, and the game took 9 months to complete. And we will continue to support it with more development over the next few months. That's expensive!
Steam sales and iTunes have created a really warped perception of what a video game should cost. I mean sure, if we were in some heavily promoted Steam sale with 50,000+ guaranteed sales, then we could drop the cost no problem.
But the odds of us ever being included in one of those sales is very small. The vast majority of games never get that kind of promotion.
THIRD: We are so happy to be part of the Linux Gaming community. This is a great site and I am so thankful someone from here encouraged me early to have Linux support on our last game, Dungeon of Elements.
THANK YOU!!! :)

Dude...Expensive??? Look at Faeverse.....THAT IS EXPENSIVE. It is pretty much the same style of "match three", without the city, and the invasions...This game is 100x better than that, and its only 10. NOT 30. This was a well spent purchase. I cant stop playing it. I enjoy this game alot.
