SOMA is a sci-fi horror game from Frictional Games, creators of the groundbreaking Amnesia and Penumbra series. The setting in SOMA is not what we originally thought.

I like the new direction in this game and it looks fantastic, can't wait to see it in action, but we have a fair bit of waiting on our hands until we get it. The game won't come out until next year!

About
The radio has gone silent on PATHOS-2. As isolation bears down on the staff of the remote research facility, strange things are happening.

Machines are taking on human traits and alien constructions have started to interfere with routine. The world around them is turning into a nightmare.

The only way out is to do something unimaginable. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I was hoping for more of a spook, but oh well, still excited :D

So the setting is very much in line with the Penumbra games, sifting through desolated ruins and remains; no other people in sight.

While I am still looking forward to that, I'm also still wishing it would have gone in a different direction. More like the live-action teasers, a cyberpunk-is/noir-ish FMV game. And with people you interact with.

Everyone's doing the same 'screen interference' title effect in their trailers, it's getting really tiring.
