Valve's Free to Play Movie Now On Linux

By -
In a shocking turn of events Valve has learnt how to play videos on Linux and has allowed us to download their movie titled "Free to Play".

This honestly should have been a day one thing for us, it's just a movie, what the hold-up was is anyone's guess.

About
Free to Play is a feature-length documentary that follows three professional gamers from around the world as they compete for a million dollar prize in the first Dota 2 International Tournament. In recent years, e-sports has surged in popularity to become one of the most widely-practiced forms of competitive sport today. A million dollar tournament changed the landscape of the gaming world and for those elite players at the top of their craft, nothing would ever be the same again. Produced by Valve, the film documents the challenges and sacrifices required of players to compete at the highest level.

Yeah, it doesn't really do much for me. Never read side chat, though I'm pretty sure that applies to any online game :P

Oh noes, if you call something "Free to play" it must be about every free to play game ever released?

As I understand, this movie is about the competitive side of Dota 2, actually about one of the million-dollar tournaments called The International Valve put together and a team's journey there. I hear it's good.

My favourite eSports doc so far is State of Play, it helps that I love to watch Starcraft. Definitely checking this one out as well though. Wouldn't it be cool if a player/team got sponsored by someone desktop Linux-related and would only practice using Linux. :P
