Bravada is the début game from Ukraine developers Interbellum Team that features a cheery little story. It's a game like nothing I've ever played before and I rather enjoyed it. It's a tactical RPG game with turn-based battles like no other.

My thoughts
First thing to note as usual is that it's built in Unity, the first run was perfect, but the second time I loaded it up it decided to display on my second screen and set the resolution to both monitors width. Unity really has shocking multi-monitor support under Linux. Luckily the developers acted on my feedback right away and released a build with resolution controls in the game itself, this did fix my issues! Much respect for that.

Honestly I didn't expect much when going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised at how delightful Bravada actually is, it's really quite decent. I struggle to like a lot of weird indie games that come out, but this game caught my attention right from the first moment for the interesting mechanics.

It eases you into it giving you a tutorial that you play out as it tells you what to do on the game world itself, very few games make the tutorials fun and Bravada nails it.

The combat is really interesting as you need to make sure your units are in a good formation otherwise you can quickly lose, the power-ups you can find as you progress are especially useful and add a nice touch to an already interesting game.

I can see myself actually playing through this one and completing it, which doesn't happen often. It's just so charming and actually fun without being frustrating in any way.

It's hard to say anything bad about Bravada, so for the first time ever I will give it 5/5.

You can pre-order it from Desura or their website right now.

Finally, they are looking to get on Steam via greenlight and I would be shocked if they didn't make it, so give them a vote. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Looks vaguely roguelike with some nice graphics, and some (apparently) original gameplay features. Inasmuch as Desura has been crashing over and over for me, I'll wait for Steam to offer it.

Just use the stand-alone downloads from Desura, no need to use the outdated Linux client.

Dammit! I wasn't convinced by the video so I tried the demo and now I need this game. Those Ukrainians have created a solid, polished and fun gameplay, I'll be tracking them.
