Civilization V looks like it will gain a Linux version after-all with new information from the awesome SteamDB. We speculated on it coming to Linux as a result of being pictured in Steam's major announcements when they unveiled SteamOS.
Since then nothing really came of it until today! This is some major supporting evidence to support Civ V coming to Linux, I would be shocked if it didn't after this.
The SteamDB entry for it has been updated with new Linux information today:

About
Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the dawn of man into the space age: Wage war, conduct diplomacy, discover new technologies, go head-to-head with some of history’s greatest leaders and build the most powerful empire the world has ever known.
The Civ games are hugely popular and having the newer ones on Linux will be quite a big boost for Linux and SteamOS as Valve get ever closer to releasing a "stable" build for Steam Machines to roll out.
Exciting or what?

Works perfect under wine. Cheating I know but I'd never expect to see that on native Linux (shame that)

Probably not going to happen, but I wouldn't mind playing Civ IV: Colonization as well. I tried to run it in Wine but failed miserably. For me it would be a tolerable compromise for Steam or devs to provide wine wrappers for games that work perfectly in wine and won't get a port anyway, but I can see the reasons behind not doing that.

I bought it with all the DLC's as was hoping it would come to linux one day thanks to the SteamOS announcement where it showed Civ 5 being played on the steamos machine.
Pandora as well, coming to us at the end of May.

I did the same thing with XCOM: EU, but no DLCs. Is buying DLCs (or the games themselves) after an eventual Linux announcement help bring attention to Linux? How does Steam count OS usage, by the OS on which a game is installed or what?
