I wrote about Contested Space recently about how fun it looked. Sadly it's not got long left on Kickstarter and needs a bit of love. It's a space MMO with a difference, you can build your ship block-by-block and I showed that off in a video:

My ship designing skills are terrible, but it's a fun idea.
The developer has been busy and has now implemented beam weapons, because no space game is complete without LASERS! Pew Pew.

Look at all those lasers, this video shows the game off really well.
About
Contested Space mixes action oriented ship combat with creativity and community. Players design their own ships and stations, while defending and expanding territory for their alliance. All of this happens in one persistent universe where every action has a lasting consequence. The game will be available on PC, Mac, and Linux.
The game will be $5 a month when it launches as it's a subscription based MMO, very different to the likes of Star Citizen though (it won't need a power-house PC to run for starters).
The developer is really Linux friendly and considering the Linux version already exists it's a very safe bet. Unlike masses of other Kickstarters which delay and delay.
Now, go and back it on Kickstarter will you.
