Flagship is a real-time strategy game set on a galactic scale, played from a first person perspective. Command your fleet from the bridge of your ship, explore the stars and expand your territory.

Who else is excited to see where this goes? Of course it's in the early stages and the art is rough, but you get the idea of it from the trailer. I love the fact that space games are really coming back lately, brilliant.
It's using Unity3D, so unless it's using the latest version of Unity we may see the same performance, mouse and monitor issues as we do with other Unity-based games.
Features
-Build and command your fleet from the bridge of your flagship
-A galaxy full of enemies to conquer
-Ships in your fleet gain experience
-Native Oculus Rift support
About
Humanity had only just begun its expansion beyond the solar system when it came face to face with a thriving and hostile galaxy. After a disastrous defeat the Sol system was lost and the remains of the human race were forced into a backwater system. With limited resources and a skeleton fleet, it's up to you to rebuild what has been lost, or forge a new empire from the ashes.
The game is being built from the ground-up to be played with the Oculus Rift, though it can be played without one.

This is what EVE Online needs. Make it into a MMO and it wil be the best game ever. Sadly I have concerns about it using Unity, not the best for anything massively multiplayer.

GEIF!
Yes, totally agree GoL! Space games were the golden age of computer gaming prior to the advent of the FPS. I've ALWAYS wanted a star trek game to be like this.
Thank you for bringing this under my radar :)

Sounds fantastic. I do love a lot of things where we lose the Sol system for some reason and have to rebuild elsewhere.
