Vogl the open source OpenGL debugger being made by Valve is soon to gain support for the GL 4.x API and on a lighter note it almost works on Windows.

Rich Geldreich let us know via twitter about this one, it will be good to see Vogl gain higher OpenGL support for when newer games start pushing OpenGL to the limits using the newer API's.

It will also be good to see it work on Windows, as it will only help our cause if there is a cross-platform OpenGL debugger that bigger companies are happy using. It would make everyone more inclined to use OpenGL over DirectX if they have access to something like this.

The importance of this tool is crazy, to allow developers to properly optimize their games for OpenGL is going to be so very welcome to all of us.

If you remember Vogl already supports Unreal Engine 4, so games that come out using it could already take advantage of this tool. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.
