Mighty No. 9 is the Mega Man inspired side-scrolling action game from veteran Mega Man developers that was Kickstarted last year and will come to Linux. We now have some gameplay footage to show you.
I am pretty sure Mighty No. 9 is one of the highest funded games on Kickstarter hitting nearly 4 million! Wow people sure do love their sides-scrollers! I never played Mega Man, so to me this just another side-scrolling action game, but it does look pretty good even now.

If you funded it let us know what you think for sure!
About
Mighty No. 9 is an all-new Japanese side-scrolling action game that takes the best aspects of the 8- and 16-bit era classics you know and love, and transforms them with modern tech, fresh mechanics, and fan input into something fresh and amazing!
You play as Beck, the 9th in a line of powerful robots, and the only one not infected by a mysterious computer virus that has caused mechanized creatures the world over to go berserk. Run, jump, blast, and transform your way through six stages (or more, via stretch goals) you can tackle in any order you choose, using weapons and abilities stolen from your enemies to take down your fellow Mighty Number robots and confront the final evil that threatens the planet!

I must agree with the 2 guests here, go fire up your SNES emulator and play some Mega Man! That's almost like not having played any Mario or Metroid.
Apart from that I have backed the project and I can't wait to play it. Looks pretty good so far :)

This game looks hella fun. Never got into MM but really loved Super Metroid, Super Mario.
This reminds me of that Road Rash successor they're doing. I would love to see a Battle Tankx successor now that we have a Crusin the World successor - `The 90s Arcade Racer` game.

this is from the original creator of megaman, but he was kicked out of capcom after he had an argument with the current staff, then he started this :-).
