Age of Wonders III looks like it really will come to Linux! Age of Wonders III is a fantasy turn-based strategy game that is highly rated and would be fantastic on Linux.

We covered it recently where a developer actually replied with "+1" to the request for a Linux version which was quite funny, but they have now given us even more hope:
QuoteSeems we can run the game without requiring DirectX now : )>

So, they already seem to have put in an OpenGL render in some form, it could be something like Valve's toGL or done directly by the engine itself who knows, but it's a good bit of supporting evidence that it will come don't you think?

These guys at least appear to be being upfront and serious about supporting Linux. Unlike so many recent releases.

Well, so long as it's a better job than the Witcher 2 "port".

Interesting. I am keeping an eye on this as I have always been a huge fan of Heroes of Might and Magic. This looks similar enough.

I've been following Age of Wonders 3 for a while now. Linux support just may make me pull the trigger on a sale.
