With more games announcing Linux support that use CryENGINE I hope they already have good people working on the Linux support. It is of course important to note that the new Homefront FPS game will come to Linux that uses CryENGINE.
To apply for it you need to be pretty smart and meet all this:
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 year of professional software development experience.
- Excellent understanding of:
- OpenGL API, shader programming and 3D graphics algorithms.
- UNIX operating systems and the open-source development community.
- Object-oriented software engineering.
- Multithreaded software architecture.
- Strong software engineering and debugging skills.
- Adopt existing company development processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Excellent english communication and writing skills.
- Keep a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Willing to relocate to Frankfurt am Main in Germany.
- Be proactive and self-motivated, work without direct supervision.
- Willing to travel for conferences and off-site meetings as needed.

Overall, it doesn't look that unfeasible. It's good for them to want a competent person on the team, and competent people there are. Let's hope they get someone good! :)

not really... if you know how to read
they are searching for standard experienced UNIX C++ coder with knowledge how to tackle multi threading (aka. race conditions, memory sharing and other things you need to know about it), debugging is more or less a given since everyone almost can't bypass it.
the only difference from that is the additional GL knowledge and knowledge of how to approach to certain problems. same as sorting for example (just as easier translation), there are standard algorithms how to do it in most cases to be most efficient. and there won't be much of experimenting in this job, more or less requirement is following their doing
though excelent english from german company really made me chuckle. last time i was in germany, no one spoke it. the only person that did,... was foreigner, lol

Well 'german' company. Crytek has office in several countries (including the United Kingdom, America, China, ...) and most of their employees aren't German (even in the Frankfurt office you have quite the mix of nationalities)

Nice to see they're throwing more at it. Sadly, I don't exactly fit the profile, didn't do enough OGL development. Even though, I don't know many people who truly understand all the OGL API with all it pros/cons when they're used in different ways ;-).

If we are presuming that Unix ~= Linux then I could possibly take the job but I would not want to relocate at all. I sorta like it here.
