FLASHOUT 2 is a fantastic looking fast paced futuristic racer that is now available on Linux. It looks a lot like the old Wipeout games that's for sure.
They confirmed to us in the past that they were developing all versions next to each other, so to regular readers it should be no surprise that it has day 1 Linux support!

Played the game for couple hours.
Game is running great, one of the few unity games that not having some weird issues. everything works as it should.
The game is very fast paced, you will love it or you will be totally hating it. the shooting with rockets and guns to take your opponents down during the race gives it a extra kick :-).
Totally a buy for its price :-).

Am I the only one that gets annoyed when developers, reviewers and people in general say "addicting" instead of addictive? Just sounds wrong.

Also, the use of dubstep in their trailer. It was crap 5 years ago, just because it's crossed the pond now doesn't mean it should be used in every trailer, let's play video and review - it still sounds like a robot vomiting into my ears. I'm seriously hoping the in-game music isn't like that...
Normally, just from these two things I wouldn't buy the game out of principle, but given the serious lack of racing games on Linux and my love for the Wipeout games, I will let them off the hook.

I must say the in-game music is totally not like the trailers music, i find the in-game music tracks personally one of the best (non dub step fan here) :-).

Anybody have any idea if this ACTUALLY has DRM instead of just being misinformed that all Steam games have DRM. Plenty of Steam games have none and run just fine without Steam running or even installed. Steam just keeps them up to date for you if you happen to run it before launching.

I've bought it plugged in my ps4 controller and you can control it using that - although the key bindings are a bit weird - in game it looks great and really fast it feels a bit like a phone game it even says in the tutorial to tap the various weapons.
The actual story is incredibly cheesy it doesn't really have much of a story / terrible voice acting - for the price who cares its the racing I'm interested in not the terrible dialog - in fact it would have been better to not include any of those terrible cut scenes.
It really does remind me of wipeout its a decent clone and the first feeling of speed ive gotten out of a linux game in a long time - heres hoping to much more and much better.

This doesn't help a single bit if steam is the only way of buying the game :(
