LIMBO can finally be played natively on Linux thanks to Ryan "Icculus" Gordon and his porting magic.
If you don't remember, LIMBO came in a Humble Indie Bundle and caused a wee bit of a stir when people noticed it wasn't native. Glad we can put that behind us now!

Kudos to Ryan for porting and Playdead for allowing him to do so! As this is an SDL2 port it should work beautifully, and brings controller support too.
You can pick it up at Humble Store if you don't own it already or fancy gifting a copy to say thanks.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
They probably wasted their time with this, we all love wrapped games now remember. As long as it works and all. Icculus will vanish into distant memory doing native ports like loki did. He needs stop this rubbish and start wrapping everything fast and cheap, so we can fill steam with glorious penguin icons.
Jokes aside, it's a good game! Glad they did this.

Alright, now that I have actually played some of this, I must now conclude that LIMBO may in fact be the most disturbing game I own. :O

Quoting: FutureSutureQuoting: ImantsMy first two bullet points tackle that rather nicely. Civilization 5 is another example, though, as is Trine. CD Projekt RED, being all about good will, certainly screwed up here compared to other developer studios.Quoting: FutureSutureLimbo code base is much smaller than Witcher 2: Assassins of KingsAnd yet here we have Limbo for Linux. Natively. Thank you, Playdead and icculus. That is how you build good will. I can tell which game I'll buy and gift and which one I won't.
- Playdead is much smaller than CD Projekt RED
- Playdead has a lot less cash than CD Projekt RED
- Limbo is much older than The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
- Limbo already exists on Linux via a wrapjob
Limbo is much more easer to test.
I think it is very hard to compare these two games.
Civilization 5 and Witcher 2 in other hand...
Limbo would be a lot cheaper to port, also consider the fact that both games actually have similar sale prices. Witcher 2 is always £3 when they go on (-80%) sale, so they are not too far off, Limbo would be £1.40 on -80% sale.
Still that port is so bad that there is just no excuse, but can we stop talking about it? They already announced a new version, we should come back to this once it's ready.

Did they? I look at the github and Steam forums everyday and the only thing they were able to say about this was "no ETA." I even asked if a "true fullscreen version" was possible as a VP employee mentioned that it could improve performances but I never got an answer...

Uh... read before you quote. It says exactly what I said: no ETA.
