While not yet officially announced Mount & Blade: Warband is out for Linux, downloadable and might even be playable for you. Mount & Blade: Warband is a medieval combat game that looks pretty good and has plenty of good reviews to back it up. Our Samsai tested it out and reported it working with a great framerate, so early reports are good.

QuoteWow, you guys are fast :) We're still testing some stuff before announcing the beta. The launcher uses 32 bit qt4. I thought I included necessary libraries but I guess I missed some. We could only test the game on Ubuntu 12.04 so I'm open to any suggestions about making the game more compatible on various distros.

Wow, this is freaking awesome. Mount and Blade is a fantastic game and it runs pretty well using Wine. I am really surprised they would port it to Linux. I think I'm going to buy a second copy just so I can support the Linux port.

And Quick Video to test the port:

no idea if mods like Clash of Kings and similar work yet
but so far the framerate is rock solid and no graphical glitches noticed.
game hangs on exit.. process needs to be killed or forced to close

Do we know if the Linux version will be available on GamersGate ?
I own it on GamersGate, and I could buy it again on Steam to support the developpers for their Linux port, but I'm kind of short of money these times, so...

It's probably a bigger deal for when the port is not done in-house, in that case the porting house might not be registered in Steam's system to receive the revenue. Personally, I'm waiting for official releases so that I know that I count correctly and the appropriate party receives the revenue.

Works nicely on Arch Linux 64 bit, GTX 660, with maximum settings. Alt-tab works in the menues.
Only problems I’ve noticed:
- ~/.mbwarband/ directory instead of ~/.config/mbwarband/
- thinks my keymap is qwerty
- infinite loop at exit, you have to kill the process.
I'm also on Arch 64-bit with nvidia (GTX765M), but I can't get the configuration utility to run. It crashes with a few "wrong ELF class" messages. Did you have to do anything special to get it to run?

I don't have this game, but you might try running "file <name of executable>" and "ldd <name of executable>" to see whether it's a 32-bit program and what libraries it needs.
