Good news everyone! The Among The Sleep developers are now able to reproduce the game breaking bug that affects Linux gamers preventing them from playing, and they are working on a fix!

You may (or may not) remember our recent post highlighting that over a month after release Linux (& Mac) gamers aren't able to play the game they paid for.

Luckily the developers have kept us updated on the situation and it's a lot more positive than we first thought:

@gamingonlinux We have been able to reproduce the issue, and it seems it is related to a shader that does not have support for OpenGL (1/2)

@gamingonlinux This is something we're working on right now. We'll keep you updated! (2/2)

So, hopefully in the not too distant future we will all be able to put this behind us and enjoy the scary world of a toddler in Among The Sleep.

About the game

Among the Sleep is a first person horror adventure, in which you play a two year old child. After waking up in the middle of the night to mysterious sounds, you start exploring the dark looking for comfort.

As a parent myself this game had me very excited, and being able to play it will be great. Still, we don't recommend buying it until the fixes land to again show your support for a working game if you haven't picked it up already that is.

Yay, over one month to /reproduce/ (meaning there's no work done yet) an INCREDIBLY COMMON BUG AFFECTING TWO PLATFORMS. Way to give support. Next.
My wallet's happy what with all the horsedung going on right now.

I understand the sarcasm from Hyeron, but I'm just glad that they've acknowledged the bug and confirmed that we're being given due care. I have plenty of games to keep me busy until I try playing this again. It's just frustrating that most of the internet will have moved on from caring about this game by the time I get to play it.

I havent purchased this game yet, not because of its bugs, but because they have said in the forums that this game was a bit short, like 1-2 hours playtime and it was not worth the 20 euros.

And now with the bugs...ehmmm....I think I will wait until the Steam Winter Sales :D

You know, I *wish* it were sarcasm, really.
But they don't even have the excuse of "too many distros, too much hardware". It happens on *MACS*, for Christ's sake. They didn't even take the first step anyone does (or at least anyone even remotely professional does) before release: test the darned thing.
Then they take a whole MONTH to acknowledge the thing and "be able to reproduce it" whereas most anyone with an nVidia can.
Then they SAY they're working on it?
Please.

And the worst thing is, they aren't the first, they won't be the last. :/

Now I'd just like to play the game I pledged for. I'm willing to forgive, but not forget; I'll be viewing Krillbyte with more scrutiny in the future.
