Good news for all point-and-click adventure fans out there: the Deponia trilogy has finally been released for Linux by Daedalic Entertainment, bringing arguably the best games of the genre made in over a decade to the platform.
However, owners of the original three installations will be disappointed in not finding the games in their Linux library and will have to buy the new “complete” version of the games, which consists of the trilogy and a few extras unified as one game. I myself was a little miffed, but given that the game is 90% off on Steam until September if you own them already, it can be forgiven. Daedalic have yet to confirm whether or not the separate instalments of the games will receive ports.
The news comes only two months after the Visionaire point-and-click game engine incorporated a “Linux Export” feature in their 4.0 RC version, which sounds somewhat similar to Unity 3D in that games can be developed for but not on linux. No doubt this is also good news for adventure game fans since a number of Daedalic’s titles (and others) depend on the game engine for their games, opening the door for further ports.
Those out there who enjoyed the witty and sarcastic protagonists, humour and memorable puzzles of the 1990s point-and-click games will not be disappointed - Deponia ticks all the boxes for fans of those games, delivering them in a 2D cartoonish style similar to classics such as The Curse of Monkey Island, Discworld II and Toonstruck.
I played the trilogy some months back through Wine and have to say that I would put these games alongside of the Monkey Island and Discworld series as my favourite games of the genre, so looking forward to playing them again natively.

I still stand behind what I said about the game, I love the genre and these are by far the best games I have played for a long, long time. The first part is perhaps not as good as the other two, but now that they're bundled as one it's not so much of an issue. I had never seen that review before and it pretty much says the opposite to every other review I have seen and having played the trilogy, I can safely say he misinterpreted pretty much everything the game was trying to get across. I would go into detail about every aspect he got wrong, but the overwhelmingly positive reviews speak for themselves.
Either way, you have some time to look up reviews since the game still doesn't run. I assume it's just a minor issue that will be solved quickly, but If it takes any longer I guess I'll write another article about that.
The game is good but it is not for everyone the propagandist is so despicable that I do not think that every one can handle him. At the end of first game I hoped that he will change and end of second game I hoped he die :><:
Something similar happened to me i have the first two and was going to buy Goodbye Deponia with 66% discount, but i didn't, so now i only have 60% discount and if i wait to buy Goodbye Deponia in the Winter Sale this discount is over.
The solution was simple i bought it from a trader in Steamtrades for only 1 Dota2 and a Tour of Duty Ticket ($3)

Just like it is not hatred fueling jokes about stuttering, women, men, thin people, fat people, drinking alcohol, or basically any joke that involves some kind of play on personal characteristics of someone. I would say that kind of joke is a part of 100% of stand-ups or comedy shows I have ever seen.
I would normally return the FU, but in this case you're basically F'ing yourself, so I'll let it be with that: Have fun being furious at the world after watching any piece of comedy, it must be a shit life.
